Partition Coefficients, Static Deception and Deceptive Problems for Non-Binary Alphabets

چکیده
In this paper, we show how the calculation of partition coefficients for the analysis of Genetic Algorithms may be extended to nonbinary alphabets. We demonstrate the use of such coefficients in the analysis of deception and the construction of fully deceptive problems of any given order. We also show how previous analysis of static deception may be extended to the non-binary case.

Fundamental Principles of Deception in Genetic Search
This paper presents several theorems concerning the nature of deception and the central role that deception plays in function optimization using genetic algorithms. A simple proof is ooered which shows that the only problems which pose challenging optimization tasks are problems that involve some degree of deception and which result in connicting k-arm bandit competitions between hyperplanes. متن کاملThe Class Of Statically Deceptive Problems Is NP-Turing Complete
This paper identiies the complexity class of statically constructed partially deceptive problems by proving a turing reduction of 3-SAT problem to partially deceptive problem. This essentially proves that the class of partially deceptive problems is NP-turing complete and one may not be able to nd a polynomial complexity algorithm for solving deceptive problems unless P = NP. This paper also ad...
متن کاملAdaptive Group Mutation for Tackling Deception in Genetic Search
In order to study the efficacy of genetic algorithms (GAs), a number of fitness landscapes have been designed and used as test functions. Among these functions a family of deceptive functions have been developed as difficult test functions for comparing different implementations of GAs. In this paper an adaptive group mutation (AGM), which can be combined with traditional bit mutation in GAs, i...
متن کاملExtended Multi-objective fast messy Genetic Algorithm Solving Deception Problems
Deception problems are among the hardest problems to solve using ordinary genetic algorithms. Designed to simulate a high degree of epistasis, these deception problems imitate extremely difficult real world problems. [1]. Studies show that Bayesian optimization and explicit building block manipulation algorithms, like the fast messy genetic algorithm (fmGA), can help in solving these problems. ...
متن کاملEXPERIMENTALl ANALYSIS OF PARTITION COEFFICIENT IN Al-Mg ALLOYS
Because the partition coefficient is one of the most important parameters affecting microsegregation, the aim of this research is to experimentally analyse the partition coefficient in Al-Mg alloys. In order to experimentally measure the partition coefficient, a series of quenching experiments during solidification were carried out. For this purpose binary Al-Mg alloys containing 6.7 and 10.2 w...
